I baked a Barbie cake for my Princess who celebrated her 4th birthday. It was my first time to create such cake and used the chiffon recipe. Actually chiffon cake is too soft and not advisable but instead use a more solid cake. Anyway, it came out nice and was proud of what I did. I don't have a dome pan but used two 8 round pans and two 6 round pans, placed them together when cooked and completely cooled, iced the in between layers to hold them together, tapered to shape a skirt, and used marshmallow icing. I actually placed small cylinders at the middle of the pans while baking the cakes so that I will not longer have to bore holes to insert the doll. I also did not freeze the cakes first before icing as advised but I'm sure freezing helps.
